King looked over at Saitama for the fifth time that day. Not only was he uncharistically later than usual, but he was much worse at gaming than his usual as well. Not only that, but he's broke ten controllers now. Last week he was down to breaking three.
King paused the game after the eleventh broken controller.
"Maybe we should watch a movie instead?" He offered. Saitama sighed, nodding. Something was deffinately wrong, King thought. He scooted over to his disc tray, looking at all the Anime he owned, looking for one that Saitama hasn't seen yet. Instead he opted for one he showed him before. No point in showing him a new one if we're just gonna talk through it, King thought.
He waited a few minutes into the movie before asking Saitama what was wrong.
"Huh?" Saitama replied, looking at him.
"What's wrong? You look frustrated?" King asked again, gaining a look from the bald hero. "I'm serious," Saitama sighed, getting comfortable on King's couch.
"I've just been thinking," King hummed, turning the volume down. "Been having thoughts and I don't know if I should act on them,"
"What kind of thoughts?" He knew what kind Saitama meant. He watched as he fumbled with string from his "Oppai" hoodie that he wore where ever.
"I was offered something for saving someone," King looked at him.
"What was it that was offered?" Saitama sighed.
"I get to choose what. And I don't know if I should request that or request something small," The two heroes were silent, the sounds from the Anime loud in the apartment. "What should I do?" King sighed, thinking on what to say.
"Well....I think it depends on who it is and how close you are to them....and if you know they wouldn't mind...."
"Are you bullshitting an answer?" King sighed. "You tried to help at least," They went silent, neither able to focus on the awesome action on TV.
Saitama sighed, sitting up, grabbing another can of cheap beer King had grabbed not that long ago. He was tempted to tell him about Garou. He could trust him. But he was just too paranoid.
"Its Genos," Saitama had blurted out before he could stop himself.
"Oh," King responded, surprised.
Garou sighed. He was left alone again, Genos needing to leave for sales. He was getting bored already with cleaning, and being cooped up in a small apartment. His foot wouldn't stop tapping impaitently against linoleum floors. He had no idea how he'd continue to do this for any longer.
Garou huffed, tossing the broom in the corner and heading towards the door, abruptly stopping as the door swung open.
"Oh hey," Saitama greeted. Garou nodded a greeting back, avoiding eye contact. He could smell alchohol off the hero. "Everything alright?" Garou nodded, deciding to actually put the broom away before Genos returned. He didn't want to deal with the cyborg getting upset because he didn't put something back.
He was startled when he turned, Saitama right behind him.
"Sorry," The hero apologized, soon reaching to grab a bucket. Great, Garou thought, remembering days of having to clean after Bang when the old man would drink with the older students.
He watched as Saitama headed into the living room, turning on the TV to watch whatever he was watching. Garou was sure he could leave without any problem, but for some reason he only sat beside the hero until Genos returned to scold him for putting the broom in the wrong place.
Saitama woke up when it was midnight, grabbing something to eat. He was trying not to make too much noise. Genos' soft whirr showed him that the cyborg was deep in sleep, his usually stiff body relaxed, with the occasional shift of movement as he adjusted himself.
Garou on the other hand. He was quiet and stiff, his body hidden underneath the comforter, only his hair peaking out, which looked much more wild than it usually did.
Saitama hummed, heading into the kitchen to put his bowl of food in the sink, and headed back to the living room and crawled back onto his futon, trying to go back to sleep. It didn't take him long to get back up. Garou must be uncomfortable sleeping like that! It had to be hurting his back! Saitama thought.
He decided on fixing the problem.
Saitama pulled the comforter down a bit, then started to adjust the young blond. He ignored the gold eyes watching him, as he adjusted their owners body to a more comfortable position.
He adjusted Garou's back so that it wasn't so curled in a ball as it was, then he adjusted the blonds legs, letting them stretch out. He lifted Garou's head up a bit to adjust the pillow on his futon as well so that he wouldn't have a kink in his neck.
When he was done he pulled the comforter over Garou's shoulder and then crawled back to his own futon, satisfied with his work.
Genos was surprised to find Saitama awake before him. The bald hero watching the TV on mute with the subtitles on. He looked over to see Garou still sleeping, looking much more comfortable than usual.
"Oh morning," Saitama greeted, tone quiet.
"Morning Sensei," Genos whispered back. "Have you been up long?" Saitama shook his head. Genos hummed, soon sitting beside his sensei, pulling out his cellphone for updates. It was another hour before Garou woke up, who stretched out, reminding Genos, again, of a cat.
"Morning Garou," Saitama greeted with a chuckle "Sleep well?" The blond blinked a few times, his hair a god damn mess and drool on his cheek. Saitama hummed with a smile. "I'll take that as a yes,"
Garou wiped the drool off his cheek, staring at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. He was embarrassed. Wasn't drooling something that kids did? He thought. And here he drooled in his sleep, stained his damn pillow in the process.
He wasn't gonna lie, that was the best sleep he had in years, but he deffinately didn't miss his bedhead. His hair was sticking in every direction, a few strands laying on his forehead and where the drool had been. His eyes still looked like they were still tired, even though he was wide awake.
Garou sighed, leaving the bathroom and joining Saitama and Genos for breakfast. After breakfast Genos left for a meeting. Saitama left a few hours later to most likely look for work. Leaving Garou alone again. He was used to it, but craved to walk around some place with more room.
Genos hummed, texting Saitama during the meeting. Nobody else was really listening, the meeting only being simple updates on past monster attacks and updates on the heroes who were harmed during. King looked like he was battling a hangover. Of course Tatsumaki scolded him until Zombieman mentioned something about "dinner plans", which the esper turned beat red.
- Should we get Garou a phone?- Genos hummed, thinking. It'd help. He could check to see if they were missing anything. Or could let them know if anyone had dropped by the house.
- If you think it'd help, Sensei-
- Lets talk more about it at Dinner-
- Alright Sensei-
"Hey Genos. How's Saitama doing?," Genos looked up at King.
"Sensei seemed to be doing fine," He answered. King hummed. "Why do you ask?"
"He seemed bothered with something yesterday. We talked a bit about it, but not for long. I was just curious if he was doing better," Talking about what? Genos thought. Did sensei tell him about Garou?
"Is that why Sensei came home intoxicated?"
"He did drink more than usual. He didn't get too sick did he?" Did he get sick? Genos thought. All Garou told was that he came home drunk. And there was nothing in the bucket that rested beside him.
"Not that I know of," King sighed.
"That's good news," Genos nodded. "I would've drove him home if I hadn't drank,"
"I'm sure sensei took a cab," King nodded.
"I sure hope so," Genos thought for a few before asking.
"What exactly was it that you and Sensei had talked about?" Kings eyes widened.
"I...I promised I wouldn't tell," I see. Genos thought. "Sorry Genos,"
"It's alright. I'm just glad that sensei has such a great friend," King gave a weak smile. "And thank you for helping sensei,"
"I'm just glad he's doing better now," Genos nodded.
