The morning went smooth; like usual Genos was up first, with everything set for breakfast, the smell waking Saitama with a yawn. Garou was already up, or at least woke up a few minutes before Saitama did, sleep still evident in his eyes.
“Ah! Morning, Sensei!” Genos greeted.
“Mornin’ Genos,” Saitama yawned. “Morning Garou,”
“Morning,” Garou greeted back.
“Sleep well?” Garou nodded, but from the looks of it, he didn't.
“Breakfast is ready,” Genos told, making Saitama humm.
“Smells good,” he complemented, seeing steam come from the flustered cyborg.
Garou didn't sleep well at all last night.
He wasn't a heavy sleeper, always alert, even in sleep. But he never had such a hard time trying to fall asleep before. In the middle of the night, he was tempted to just sleep outside, listen to nature's quiet, soft hum.
Not a robots fans turning and a bald mans loud snoring.
Breakfast went alright. Garou was uncomfortable, but nothing bad had really happened. He expected Genos to try and poison him, but the food seemed to be fine. It was honestly pretty fucking delicious.
He’d never tell the cyborg that though.
The rest of his day was fairly calm, he was home alone, Genos and Saitama off doing hero work. He enjoyed the silence with them being gone, the only sounds in the apartment was just him and the sound of cleaning.
He didn't know if him doing chores counted as payment for the hero saving him or not, from the sound of it though, it seemed that Saitama simply wanted to make sure he had a livable place to stay, and that maybe him doing chores was more so for his own sake. If that were the case, then Garou had much to worry about, he didn't know what kind of person Saitama was, but he assumed Saitama was a humble person and wouldn't ask for anything over the top, at least, Garou hoped that would be it.
Saitama left the meeting room, Genos thinking he'd be needed there, but all it was about was Garou and how all the S class heroes should keep an eye out for him. Though hopefully they'll forget about the kid after a while, assuming that maybe he gave up from last time.
Speaking of Garou, he wondered how he was doing back at the apartment. When he and Genos left, Garou was finishing the dishes Genos had started.
Saitama didn't forget about the debt thing, hell it was hard for him to. He had no idea what to he could do that'd be considered payment for him saving Garou’s life. He was tempted to try and persuade him that he owed nothing, that “he was a hero and that's what heroes do” talk, but he knew it'd be pointless.
“Sensei, is everything alright?” Genos asked, Bang beside him, who looked equally concerned.
“Oh just wondering how that stray pup is doing. Y’know?” Saitama replied. “Hopefully he’s getting used to being inside,” Genos nodded, understanding what Saitama meant.
“You two have a pup now?” Bang seemed surprised. “Surprised one would be found at Z city. Especially with all the monsters roaming about lately,”
“Yeah, poor thing was being chased by a monster,” Saitama told.
“The pup was lucky to have been saved by sensei,” Genos added.
“Oh? Well I'm sure that pup is sure glad to have been found by you two,” Saitama nodded.
Genos looked over at his sensei, who was deep in thought, which was fairly normal after they left a sale, but Genos assumed this was for something different than making sure nothing was forgotten.
“Is everything alright, Sensei?” Genos finally asked, gaining a sigh.
“Yeah. Just feel bad for Bang,” Saitama told. Genos nodded, remembering the conversation after about the “pup” they found. It seemed that Bang was still worried about his ex-disciple, Garou. Genos could tell Saitama had felt like telling Bang, but was probably worried about Bang turning him in. Plus now, everyone who had overheard the conversation now thought they had adopted a pup, they had to make up stories of what the pup looked like, and decided upon on a husky-wolf mix after Genos did a quick search of the internet and types of dogs. “Do you think he’s doing alright?”
“Who?” Genos replied snapped from his thoughts, soon gaining a look from Saitama. “Oh. I guess we should be prepared for stuff that are destroyed,” Saitama rolled his eyes.
“I doubt he destroyed our stuff,” Genos hummed. “I'm guessing you still don't like him being with us, huh?” Genos sighed.
“I'm getting used to it,” Saitama nodded, looking straight ahead, signalling that their conversation was over.
Garou was startled awake when the door opened, seeing Saitama enter first.
“Hey,” Saitama greeted. “Everything good?” Garou nodded, trying hard not to yawn. “Y’know if you get bored you can watch TV, right?”
“Yeah,” Garou replied, gaining a nod from the hero.
Dinner went smoothly, smoother than Genos had expected. He scanned Garou a couple of times, why? He had no idea, he assumed it was out of habit for when a new person has had his cooking, scanning them the first couple times, figure out whether they like it or not. Why it mattered to Genos or not, he had no clue, so he just saved the scannings to his database, where all the other scans rested. According to the scans, Garou seemed to enjoy the sweeter foods more than the rest on his plate, though Genos couldn't be sure, needing to do more scans before he can pinpoint a definite on what foods were Garou’s favorites.
Again, why he was actually planning this, Genos had no idea.
Maybe for blackmail? Find out what foods the villain liked and what foods he disliked and just cook him the disliked foods if he ever went out of line?
It was better than Genos’ first plan on how to make sure that the villain stayed on the right track.
Saitama set out their futons, glad he and Genos found one for sale earlier that day. He was sure it'd be more comfortable instead of a bunch of blankets piled on each other. He hummed when he felt metallic hands wrap around him and rest on his chest.
“Hey, Genos,” Saitama greeted, a smile on his face. “Is he in the shower?” He felt Genos nod, the cyborg nosing at his neck, leaving light kisses. Saitama sighed happily, soon nudging Genos back, and giving him a quick peck on his cheek, hearing the bathroom door open, signaling his turn.
He felt bad about not giving Genos the usual amount of attention. His mind has just been so busy lately.
Genos cracked open an eye, seeing Saitama asleep, looking peaceful and godly as always. He sat up, peeking over the amazing heroes body, looking at the white fluff of hair sticking out from underneath a blanket. This time Garou was asleep earlier than before.
That was good news to Genos.
The next day went better.
Saitama and Genos were able to relax at the apartment that day, neither of them called in by the Hero Association. Saitama decided that then would be a good time to check on Garou's wounds.
So they sat in the bathroom, Saitama slightly surprised to see all the cuts healed, along with most of the bruises gone. A few bad ones were still making themselves known, though none of them seemed to actually hurt, or at least Garou didn't give any sign that they did.
“Well everything seems to be fine now,” Saitama finished, backing away from Garou. “Did any of them hurt?”
“No,” Garou answered simply. Saitama nodded, glad that he started talking more, he was pretty much silent most of the day yesterday.
“Sensei!” Genos called. “King was wondering if you still were coming over!” Saitama had completely forgotten about his game date with King, a lot has happened the last two days.
“Let him know I'll be a little late!” Saitama answered.
